GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
I've never been really good at an immediate comeback. Truth. Yep, even though I fancy myself something of a words gal, I readily admit to not being a very good defender of self in the moment. What I mean to say is that, if you insult me, it may take me an hour or seven to generate a fulfilling retort. Hmpf. Contrarily, if you swipe at my kid, hubby, parents, family or friends, I can slice you to ribbons in a single clock tick ... with a smile on my face ... and standing on one leg. #dontmesswithmypeeps
The point is, I wish for a world where snappy comebacks and stinging responses were not needed. Words matter, people - please choose them wisely to avoid hurting the other humans. Remember, what you say to and about others is a direct reflection of you, not them. At the end of the day, it's better to let go of the hurt someone hurled your way; holding onto it is like clinging to a scalding pot handle --- you're the only one getting burned, yo.
So; to the gal who launched an unprovoked verbal attack on me Saturday and to the gentleman who needlessly squashed my spirit yesterday: I forgive you. Clearly you were each having moments of self-doubt and insecurity. Ya big stupid heads. Just kidding!
Happy talking to one another, y'all!
The Lord hears the cry of the poor. Look to him that you may be radiant with joy, and your faces may not blush with shame. When the poor one called out, the LORD heard, and from all his distress he saved him. The LORD confronts the evildoers,to destroy remembrance of them from the earth. When the just cry out, the LORD hears them, and from all their distress he rescues them. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves. The LORD redeems the lives of his servants; no one incurs guilt who takes refuge in him. ALLELUIA. Come, O Lord, do not delay; forgive the sins of your people.
