GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
When I was a senior in high school, my then-boyfriend George introduced me to the musical stylings of the epic rock band, Led Zeppelin. I've been in love ever since...with Led Zeppelin, that is.
Not so much an advocate of all their lyrics not that I'm all grown up and a connoisseur of words...but you have to admit the old guys really slayed it back in the day. Case in point: one of their biggest hits, "Whole Lotta Love." Yes, some of the verses are extremely suggestive (and not necessarily in a warm, fuzzy, PK kind of way); but the guitar riffs, the percussion work and the psycadellic chords on that track are as hip today as they were in 1969. #wickedcool
Yet it's the message of putting good vibes out into the universe that's resonating in my mind. Because some days, we just aren't feeling the love, am I right? Especially on a cold, bleak morning when it should be warm and sunny ... but isn't. And you should be enthused and excited to tackle your next work assignment...but you aren't. And you should feel energized, empowered and ready to face the challenges and prospects before you...but instead you're just; blah.
Sigh. Into every life, a little muddled melancholy must fall. #winterdoldrums But the good news is, the blues don't last forever.
So pull yourself out of your slump by cranking up some Led Zeppelin and remember; even on the ickiest of days there's someone out (& up) there sending you a "Whole Lotta Love. "
Ps 31:5-6, 14, 15-16 R. (17b) Save me, O Lord, in your kindness. You will free me from the snare they set for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hands I commend my spirit; you will redeem me, O LORD, O faithful God. I hear the whispers of the crowd, that frighten me from every side, as they consult together against me, plotting to take my life. But my trust is in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God." In your hands is my destiny; rescue me from the clutches of my enemies and my persecutors. Verse Before the Gospel Jn 8:12 I am the light of the world, says the Lord; whoever follows me will have the light of life.
