Boxing Up Air Makes for a Long, Stressful Day

GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Some days are just one big u-turn, you know what I'm sayin'?

Take yesterday, for instance. No, I'm serious; I wish you could. It was one of those days on which the harder I tried to get something accomplished, the slower I went. It was sort of like boxing up packages of air, addressing them to myself, retrieving them from the mail for unloading and starting the process all over again. Like 478 times.

Being unproductive is one of the ickiest feelings in the world. Yeah, it's a word.

Anyway, sometimes, the best way to move the needle on a completing a presentation, project, task, chore or duty is to stop doing it for a moment. Step away. Focus on something else for a brief time. Take a brisk walk. Read a few pages of that novel you've been trying to finish since 2014. Call your Mom and Dad just to say hello.

And then, when you're good and distanced from that thing which had you running in place all morning, take one deep, cleansing breath with your eyes closed. As you open them, smile and tell yourself that this time, you are going to work on your project in 45 minute increments, pausing for a few minutes each time that span has passed; even if only to stand up and stretch your arms as high up as they'll go. Relax. Refresh. Repeat.

And ship that box of air to somebody else -- overnight. Preferably someone horrid, like that dreadful Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors - blech! #letsgocavs

Blessed be God who refused me not my prayer or his kindness! R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy. Jn 6:51 R. Alleluia, alleluia. I am the living bread that came down from heaven, says the Lord; whoever eats this bread will live forever. Gospel Jn 6:44-51 Jesus said to the crowds: "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day.
