Someone tries to goad you. Or someone treats you with utter disrespect or condescension.

Or someone takes a swing at you --physically or metaphorically.

-You're above base, primal reactions to provocation.

-You're a grown up.

-You're a professional.

-You're civilized.

-You're rational.

-As Izzie said on "Grey's Anatomy" when asked why she'd help her cheating boyfriend study for his failed Medical Board tests,  "because: It's what Jesus would freaking do".  You're right, Izzie, He would. P.S. Lord; please give me strength.
