![]() Sponsored by www.hbkcpa.com/consultants/nicholas-r-odille/ You know how the old saying goes. When someone is super kind, ultra good-natured and overall well-meaning toward the other humans, we utter about him: “He’s all heart.” It could be because he or she volunteers for a non-profit organization or bakes homemade treats for every new neighbor within a 30-mile radius. Maybe it’s because she devoted her life to working with the poor in some remote third-world country or he donates all his extraneous income to charitable organizations. My hat’s off and my heart’s bursting with gratitude toward those who go far above and beyond in extraordinary ways, and as a standing rule, to help people in dire need. Where on earth would earth be without such philanthropy? #ThankYouGivers But what about those who are, say, only 3/4 heart? Or even 1/3? #LOL What I mean is, I’d like to give a shout out to every heartfelt gesture, no matter how seemingly small. Because kindness, in and of itself, cannot be measured, friends. The tiniest gesture of good in an often harsh world matters...like, a lot, you dig? So, while holding the door open for a stranger or carrying grocery bags to an octogenarian’s car won’t earn you a plaque next to the gazillionaire who built that children’s cardiac hospital, it sure as shootin’ means the wide world to somebody’s whole heart, Capisce? #DoGood #ShowKindness #EveryActMatters Ps 10:1-2, 3-4, 7-8, 14 R. (12b) Do not forget the poor, O Lord! Why, O LORD, do you stand aloof? Why hide in times of distress? Proudly the wicked harass the afflicted, who are caught in the devices the wicked have contrived. For the wicked man glories in his greed, and the covetous blasphemes, sets the LORD at nought. The wicked man boasts, "He will not avenge it"; "There is no God," sums up his thoughts. His mouth is full of cursing, guile and deceit; under his tongue are mischief and iniquity. He lurks in ambush near the villages; in hiding he murders the innocent; his eyes spy upon the unfortunate. You do see, for you behold misery and sorrow, taking them in your hands. On you the unfortunate man depends; of the fatherless you are the helper. Alleluia 2 Cor 5:19 God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
