It Flies in the Face of Doubt. No, Literally, Though

I've looked for them; so have you. Well, most of you, I assume. 

​It could be because you're wavering on a decision about something life altering: a move to a new city, a change of jobs, going back to college for a degree in something you're passionate about this time. Or it could just be due to the fact that you're over-tired or super stressed or completely overwhelmed with work or personal issues...or perhaps down in the dumps and feeling a little unsure of...well, everything, frankly.

So you look up. You look around. You look down the street and online. You peer through the department store or supermarket or into the trees. Maybe you even glance down into a few dark places; like the bottom of vodka bottle. Here's a hint: nothing good was ever found there, yo.

But, for whatever reason, you are searching for a sign. A sign to tell you which direction to choose or what job to pick. A sign to validate your choice of spouse or vehicle or $500 shoes. #ItHappens

Look, no one is a bigger believer in signs that this little Italian/Irish Catholic, Capisce? In fact, I was just having this deep philosophical conversation with my son yesterday about the next life and, shortly thereafter, with my BFF,  when guess what flew directly in front of my face? A Monarch butterfly.

Right hand to the Big Guy, that totally happened.

For those who may not be aware, the Monarch Butterfly has long been associated, in many different cultures, with angels or "visiting souls" or spirits.  We Christians know the majestic and stunningly beautiful invertebrate as a symbol of the resurrection. Scoff if you want...but I'm talking about heaven and my firm belief that it's real (even though it is a tough concept for us humans to grasp) when the very symbol of rebirth flies directly into the face of doubt---and your old pal, pk?  BAM.

Um, hello? Signed, sealed, delivered, you dig? For anyone out there struggling today, here's your sign:
