GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Yesterday, I went with some of my girls to see the movie "The Shack." It was amazing: moving, emotional, deep, funny at times and desperately sad at others. It was light, it was dark, it was bright and black -- but in the end, it was truly uplifting.

It was the incredulous story of a man how, after having undergone unspeakable loss and pain, spends a weekend with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He asks a bunch of questions many of us might -- and discovers that maybe he (and all of us) isn't as upright and good as he thought; and that perhaps what he thought was bad might not necessarily have been. He learns that judging others is best left to the Trinity and that the only right answers in life are love, kindness and forgiveness.

He also learns that God listens to Bob Marley and Neil Young, I think, ... and that He loves every last one of us quite fondly. So much so that He never leaves us. Like ever.

Let's all try to remember that we never know someone else's struggles and journey and that we should approach everyone and everything with compassion. And that we are NEVER, NEVER alone.

Oh yes, and that in addition to being our Lord and Savior, Jesus is one pretty awesome carpenter...and that he likes to dress in jeans, flannel shirts and LL Bean hiking boots. #goseetheshack

Ps 33:4-5, 6-7, 12-13, 20 and 22 R. (5b) The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Upright is the word of the LORD, and all his works are trustworthy. He loves justice and right; of the kindness of the LORD the earth is full.By the word of the LORD the heavens were made; by the breath of his mouth all their host. He gathers the waters of the sea as in a flask; in cellars he confines the deep. Blessed the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance. From heaven the LORD looks down; he sees all mankind. Our soul waits for the LORD, who is our help and our shield. May your kindness, O LORD, be upon us who have put our hope in you.
