GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Sponsored by hbkcpa.com/consultants/melissa-crowley/ Do I spoil my son? Hmm. Well, I suppose that depends on your definition of the word "spoil," now, doesn't it? Okay, fine, whatever. I guess I do. But here's the thing ---and here me out, as my day boss always says. Can you ever really show a child too much caring? No, no you cannot. That's not to say that we should baby our kids forever--it's not good for anyone involved, yo. And I'm not suggesting we back off parenting by not doling out stern discipline when it's needed; that's our job, after all, teaching them right from wrong. But when your baby is crying or your toddler is scared or your second grader has a scuffed up knee or your tween has her first heartbreak or your teen realizes he needs four-dozen cookies by tomorrow morning and it's 10PM ... well, you hold, you hug, your comfort, you console, you bake (or buy!) ... you just do. And when your spouse or significant other or parent or sibling or a stranger on the street or ANYONE accuses you of being "too handsy" or "hovering" or "SPOILING"; you just tell them to simmer down ... and that PK said this: "Children are small for a blink, grown in a wink, then head off to think." Got it? Look, their time with us is limited and starts counting down from their very arrival date; I, for one, want to make the most of it. As for the fear of over-loving your child? Forget it because there is simply no such thing. So...am I always going to put my son before everything on this earth? You're darned tootin' I am. And I'll never apologize for or regret it. He didn't ask to be born, Capsice? #kidsarelittleforashorttime #childrenarethemostimportantthing #putyourkidsfirstalways PS 57:2, 3-4, 6 and 11 R. (2a) Have mercy on me, God, have mercy. Have mercy on me, O God; have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. In the shadow of your wings I take refuge, till harm pass by. I call to God the Most High, to God, my benefactor. May he send from heaven and save me; may he make those a reproach who trample upon me; may God send his mercy and his faithfulness. Be exalted above the heavens, O God; above all the earth be your glory! For your mercy towers to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the skies. Alleluia 2 Cor 5:19 God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
