GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
My Grami used to eat her dessert first sometimes, with full malice and forethought and zero apologies -- especially as she got older.

Yep, she would have a huge honking piece of apple pie with vanilla ice cream on top right before supper.

"To make sure I have room," she would laugh.

How I miss her; she was so sweet and kind and gentle and adorable. I bet she stood five feet tall and weighed 100 pounds soaking wet her whole life. #missyougram

Sometimes we all need a reminder that life is fragile. It's uncertain. It is temporary. ​I'm not trying to be maudlin or scary, mind you; just keeping it real.

​Life is short, yo.

That's why we need to argue less and smile more ---oh, and hug. Mad, ridiculous amounts of hugging should be happening as a rule for all humans.

​Like, every day. All the time. Almost as if it's going out of style, capisce?

So, try to let go of the icky and hold onto the good. And maybe, just every once in a while in honor of my dear sweet Grami, Monica Scott, have your pie as the first course of dinner, okay?
