The Real Feels Deal

At my day job, I like to describe myself as a "Morale Officer" ... and a "Wayfinder".

Though my official capacity is in Communications & Marketing, I'm actually rather proud of being something of the Company Confidant, you know?

Because, the earth-dwellers I spend about 60 hours a week with at that big building where I'm employed? Gosh, I am humbled and happy to say at least a fair amount of them come to pk for a whole lotta stuff every Monday through Friday. And sometimes beyond, yo.

And guess what? Old pk is always more than happy to lend a hand...and a big 'ol smile.

I guess some would view it as menial but helping people find answers to plain old, everyday questions or bolstering them with then need a shot of confidence or just reassuring them that they have purpose, meaning, and value in the workplace --and in the worldplace? Well, that's a pretty important position for a human, IMHO. 

And it's a responsibility I bear seriously and gratefully. After all, showing kindness to friends, colleagues, neighbors and even nemeses (especially them, I suppose) is the main #1 point of life here on the third rock.

So, when a random stranger finds the cell phone I am FREAKING OUT over misplacing at a crowded night spot and turns it into the LOST & FOUND completely unscathed...

Or somebody I've never even glimpsed pays for my coffee at the drive-through at 5AM...

Or a co-worker leaves a thoughtful, beautiful, heartfelt Christmas surprise on my desk on a rainy Monday...

Well, that makes me feel more like a VIP than any CEO title ever could, you dig? Allow me to say a gigantic "I Got Your Back" to those entrusting me to show them kindness; I promise to try my best to NEVER let you down.

​And to those giving the love to pk? Un Milione Grazie You sure know how to restore an old gal's faith in mankind, Capisce?

Especially during this time of year, let's all try extra hard to do a little good, a'ight? The resulting feels -- well, they're the real deal.
