The Snap Heard 'Round the NBA...

GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
There's nothing like a potentially career-ending injury to put a feud into some perspective, ya know? #prayingforgordonhayward

As my son and I (and about a bazillion NBA fans) watched in horror last night, the 27-year-old small forward went up for a regular old alley-oop move that ended in tragedy. Landing awkwardly, he snapped his leg in -- I'm not sure how many places.

"Oh man, he hit the floor hard..." I said after we both clearly heard the sickening crack. "Dude, he is NOT moving..." Kyle agreed. Within seconds, we saw the horrible image of his mangled foot and heard the announcers begin describing the injury. #awful

For what probably seemed like a lifetime to the poor kid lying there in what I can only imagine was excruciating pain, everything just stopped. Suddenly, the Cavs weren't out to beat the Celts. There were not sides. The score didn't matter. And we didn't hate the crud out of our formerly beloeved heir apparent Kyrie Irving for the cheap shot he took at the city of Cleveland a few days ago. #rude

LeBron James and Dwayne Wade immediately dropped to their knees to pray for their fallen basketball brother. In fact, both teams' benches came to life not in protest or anger or competition or ire ... but in silent reverence to PRAY that Gordon was going to be okay and that his injury won't be insurmountable. All I could think was, "That's somebody's little boy out there, hurting..." and I said a little prayer, too.

And when he finally sat up and started waving to the crowd as they wheeled him off the court in a stretcher, it was a relief just knowing he was on his way to healing.

Big picture: we're all on the same team and need to look after one another. #peace #humanity

Snapshot: Cavs win; take that, Kyrie! #unclewho

Hey man, I said we have to love one another, I didn't say I have to hug Benedict Arnold, yo. #letsgocavs #allin #2018nbachamps

Ps 145:10-11, 12-13, 17-18 R. (12) Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom. Let all your works give you thanks, O LORD, and let your faithful ones bless you. Let them discourse of the glory of your Kingdom and speak of your might. Making known to men your might and the glorious splendor of your Kingdom. Your Kingdom is a Kingdom for all ages, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is just in all his ways and holy in all his works. The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth. Alleluia See Jn 15:16 R. Alleluia, alleluia. I chose you from the world, to go and bear fruit that will last, says the Lord.
