GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY It's ironic, really, when a worrier like me urges others to remain calm. #ifimbreathingimworrying Funny, isn't it, how we can offer such sage, accurate and effective advice or be so incredibly perceptive and insightful diagnosing a problem and helping others figure out solutions to what troubles them; yet fail so miserably in applying the same tactics to our own fractured psyches? I gave up trying to figure it out long ago; how I can be so useful and postive and calming in aiding others and still remain such a hot mess personally. Hmpf. The truth is, we all have a whole lot going on in our lives everyday; and many of those days are more daunting than others. Some troubles are big, some are small. Some situations are dire, others a mere imposition. Some circumstances are catastrophic in nature while others are mildly annoying. But on September 11, 2017 when we're all commemorating and still reeling from the consequences of the evil terrorist attacks that changed our lives in this country forever 16 years ago to the day -- and as we are consumed with worry for our friends, family members, colleagues and even total strangers in Texas and Florida who are battling against Mother Nature's fury in the wake of Hurricane Harvey and the eye of Hurricane Irma, I think we can all agree: today's a toughie. But it's no match for what can happen if we all come together in brotherhood (sisterhood, too!), patriotism, compassion, giving, love and, you bet the bank I'm going there, PRAYER. So here's the Grateful Girl's hope for all of us today: remember, honor, care, give, love and by goodness golly, PRAY. #September11 #PrayforFlorida #PrayforTexas www.redcross.org/donate/hurricane-irma-donations?campname=irma&campmedium=aspot https://give.salvationarmyusa.org/site/Donation2;jsessionid=00000000.app30117a?idb=49228243&df_id=28057&mfc_pref=T&28057.donation=form1&NONCE_TOKEN=3EE6ACA4A85F48E968A14811D1C4C2A6&cm_mmc=Google-_-Google:RedKettleDisaster:Eastern:Eastern:Eastern:Search:Text-_-HurricaneIrma-_-Ad-text&utm_campaign=Google:RedKettleDisaster:Eastern:Eastern:Eastern:Search:Text&utm_medium=cpc&cm_mmca3=Disaster&cm_mmca2=USE&cm_mmca1=USE&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiavb_4Cd1gIVTGSGCh1QpQzVEAAYBCAAEgKY9fD_BwE Ps 62:6-7, 9 R. (8) In God is my safety and my glory. Only in God be at rest, my soul, for from him comes my hope. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be disturbed. Trust in him at all times, O my people! Pour out your hearts before him; God is our refuge! Alleluia Jn 10:27 R. My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me.
