GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Well, I woke up to a pretty big mess this morning.

No, I'm not speaking about my crazy hair, although I could be today or any other day of the week. #italiangirlproblems

I am referring to the cluttered jumble of soda cans, garbage, lava rock, water bottles, patio chairs and various other items strewn about the driveway and front yard at Casa Kimerer this fine day. It was the result of an incredibly strong storm to hit our region overnight.

And, as I picked up the mini-carnage ...after having reset the clocks for the eighth time since falling behind an hour Saturday night and the intermittent power outages last night...I took a look around.

A good, long look.

And it made me think of the INFINITE amount of blessings in my life. #blessedandgrateful

It also made me consider how truly oblivious most of us are to the extraordinary horror so many are facing in the wake of hurricane, tornado and wildfire emergencies -- not to mention the man-made terrors that have become an all-too-familiar scene.

What I'm saying is this: having to clean up tree branches or replace a gutter or fix some roof tiles is a blip; it's nothing. Having to rebuild your life after a natural or man made disaster...that's true tragedy.

Please, please -- just put a little kindness in the world. Help where you can...and pray for all in harm's way --- or it's wake. Let's all pray for the sun to shine warm and bright on those who need it most -- and very, very soon.

Ps 69:30-31, 33-34, 36 R. (14c) Lord, in your great love, answer me. But I am afflicted and in pain; let your saving help, O God, protect me. I will praise the name of God in song, and I will glorify him with thanksgiving. See, you lowly ones, and be glad; you who seek God, may your hearts revive! For the LORD hears the poor, and his own who are in bonds he spurns not." For God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah. They shall dwell in the land and own it, and the descendants of his servants shall inherit it, and those who love his name shall inhabit it.  Alleluia Jn 8:31b-32 If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, says the Lord.
