Today I'm announcing my final blog of 2019.

APRIL FOOL! Natch.

I have been trying to pull one over on my kid for the past 19 years. He ain't havin' it.

I sent him a bogus text making an assertion he clearly saw right through. He was like, "Nice try Ma; maybe in 2020?"

Hmpf.

It's like Foghorn Leghorn always says about that little Chicken Hawk: "Boy's too smart for his own good."

Okay, maybe not but they sure aren't making it easy for me and old Foggie to pull any fast ones, Capisce?

I think I MAY have gotten him once, when he was about three-and-a-half. Except for it backfiring on me. I believe it went something like: 

"Hey Kyle, I know you don't have pre-school today but I thought you could go and hang out with all the kindergartners and Miss Dee. Maybe I'll even leave you there for both morning and afternoon sessions. How's that sound?"

"YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he screamed as his little bottom wiggled at the thought of a full day's freedom from Mommy Hawk, apparently.

Then there was lots of pleading and crying and apologizing ... but I stopped after about an hour or so.

Sigh. When will I learn?
