Believe it ... or not

GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Believe it or not...another popular little idiom we tend to overuse in everyday language. Curious little quip; it's probably been uttered hundreds of billions of times. Heck, Robert Ripley made about a gazillion dollars asking people everywhere those four little words.

Yet, at the core of the phrase, whether used as a command, a suggestion, a challenge or a testament, is a question of significance. Do you believe? Hmm. To take it a step further, WHAT do you believe? More hmm.

In today's world, it's tough to know who to throw your support behind, isn't it? With so many paddling their own selfish agendas and pandering for interest groups of all types, it can leave a person in a tizzy of disarray and doubt. Sigh.

Don't look around for someone to follow. Look up. Look to the oldest, most trusted resource book on the third rock from the sun. Listen to that little voice inside yourself, telling you what's right.

Today's world is wrought with confusion, double-talk, misspeak and flat out lies. Luckily, the truth is out there, as Fox Mulder used to always say on the "X-Files." And it came straight from the top. The Lord sent us the best spokesperson in the history of history to tell us the truth; we just need to listen --- and believe.

Mk 9 - Jesus said,"O faithless generation, how long will I be with you? How long will I endure you? Bring him to me,..." (about a boy with an unclean spirit). They brought the boy to him...(and the boy's father said) "...But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us." Jesus said to him, "'If you can!' Everything is possible to one who has faith." Then the boy's father cried out, "I do believe, help my unbelief!"
