GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
You know how you're in your favorite department and you suddenly spot that pair of Jessica Simpson kicks that you absolutely LOVE and have been dreaming of buying...and then discover that it's marked down by 70%?

Or, for you gents, when you're sauntering along through the home improvement store just to grab some mulch and you stumble upon the ultimate garage door --the one Garage Gargantua magazine calls "the auto-swing portal to tomorrow"-- and it's slashed down from $1.295 to $550?

Happening upon a great find is sort of like accidentally buying a lottery ticket -- and then finding out you won $10,000.

The question is, why are we able to quickly spot material gems ... but can be so blind to real treasure right in front of our eyes?

Sure, diamonds and fast cars and designer duds are awesome; but they can't talk you through a problem or wipe away your tears or hug you when you're sad.

People, you can't use Visa, MasterCard or even cold hard cash to acquire life's most important capital: family, faith, friends, love, compassion, kindness, peace.

So, shop 'til ya drop if you wish, but be sure to stop and pick up your Mom or BFF or kids (or all of them!) on the way because the time spent with them will end up being your best deal of the day.

MT 13:44-46 Jesus said to his disciples, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.”
