Dancin' with the Sandman

The thing about letting someone else's bad behavior change yours is: it means they win.

They ultimately best you because you allow them to make you act like they want you to; not how you would normally. Don't give them that authority, yo. 

Look, it's not that being kind and considerate and friendly and giving toward someone gruff and surly and harsh and self-centered can't soften them...I truly believe in my heart of hearts that it can.

In fact, I work that little magic myself from time to time. #KillEmWithKindness 

But even when you can't seem to melt that ice-box-for-a-heart bugger; that's no reason to let him/her drag you down to the level of incivility or unkindness.

Because that may well be the creep's MO, but it isn't yours, Capisce?

How lovely life on the third rock would be if everyone was good to their fellow humans, no? Ah well, a girl can dream.

Even still, be kind and decent and loving and compassionate -- not because it's what you expect in return  but because it's who YOU are inside.

No matter how rude or unfair or downright pigheaded someone else is - we need not be.

Just remember, he's got to try to sleep soundly at night. We try-to-do-right-by-others peeps? Shoot, we'll already be dancin' with the Sandman, you dig?
