GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Waiting stinks. And, especially at this time of year when everyone's rushing to get their gifts bought and wrapped, cards written and labelled, cookies baked and iced --- there are long lines everywhere. The department store, the post office, the market; shoot, even checkout sites online are as slow as Gary the Snail on Spongebob right about now.
Let's not forget that all the other daily stressors and deadlines haven't magically disappeared into the holiday air so there's a whole lot of waiting and fretting automatically defaulted into the work week, as well. The traffic, the broken copier, the full stalls in the restroom. Grrr.
One very deep breath and some slow, methodical counting-to-ten later, in creeps a little patience. And before you know it, poof! The line clears up and it's your turn at last. Hold on, it's coming!
Isaiah 30:18d - He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He tells the number of the stars; he calls each by name. R. Blessed are all who wait for the Lord.
