GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The big brains over at the DIY store corporate headquarters didn't really mean it that way. At least, I think they didn't. Gosh, I hope they didn't.

To clarify: do we really, truly want to go through life doing everything all by ourselves? Hmm.

Practically speaking, there are very few things we do absolutely, positively, 100% completely all alone other than first entering the world and upon final exit stage left, Capisce?

Consider this: even when you are creating and then eventually giving that big presentation or swimming in that big meet or playing in that big recital or running in that big race (you get the drift) -- there was likely a boss, mentor, coach, instructor, friend and dare I say a parent or two, helping you practice, train and prepare along the way, no? Yes.

Doing it yourself is fine, even admirable to a certain degree. But there is also no shame in seeking and accepting assistance for a task, project, assignment, duty or even errand. BTW, refusing said help and then complaining that you have to do everything yourself is just bad form, yo. Rely on your peeps, your fam --- your team-- as needed.

So go ahead and DIY...but when you're stuck up on that 30-foot ladder with a high-powered staple gun in one hand and a hammer in the other ... and you need the next pack of shingles, it is perfectly okay for you to call back down to the land dwellers for a quick assist. The roof will be fixed in no time.

NOTE: For bigger, more important self improvement projects seek assistance from above the roof.

Ps 145:8-9, 13cd-14, 17-18-R. (8a) The Lord is gracious and merciful. The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness. The LORD is good to all and compassionate toward all his works. The LORD is faithful in all his words and holy in all his works. The LORD lifts up all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. The LORD is just in all his ways and holy in all his works. The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth. Verse Before the Gospel Jn 11:25a, 26-I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord; whoever believes in me will never die.

The lesson for me is to never be afraid to ask for help. We don't
know all there is to know in the journey through life.
Love your daily blog BTW!!

Right? The older I get, the more I learn about how little I actually know. ;-) Thanks for the kind words, Alex!

No shame in asking for help! Especially from the Big Man Upstairs! God Bless!
