GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Today is a first.

Sure, it's been the last Monday in April before. It's been an early spring morning. It's been sunny. It's been rainy. It's been snowy, even, on this particular calendar date in the past. But it's never been April 24, 2017 in the history of history, before right now.

Will some world-changing event happen today? Maybe. Maybe not. But it's a day like no other because it will never occur again. Ever. Think about that. Let it sink in for a sec.

One week ago today; a whole lot of folks in America awoke thinking, "Crud. It's Monday again." Others started the day with this notion: "A brand new week; cool!" The sad thing is, a lot of them aren't here anymore.

According to the United Nations: 2,473,018 people died in the United States in the most recent year data is available. That means 6,775 per day.  How many of them wasted some of their last moments being irritated...unhappy...disgruntled...uninspired? #stopthrowingyourdaysaway

Want to hear something happy?
According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, there are 3,952,841 babies born annually in the United States; that's about 10,829 births daily. #lifeisagift

Happy birthday, new little ones born April 24, 2017. The rest of us are going to celebrate this momentous occasion by facing today with gratitude, joy and one big smile.

R. Alleluia. The LORD said to me, "You are my Son; this day I have begotten you. Ask of me and I will give you the nations for an inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession. You shall rule them with an iron rod; you shall shatter them like an earthen dish." R. Blessed are all who take refuge in the Lord. Col 3:1 R. Alleluia, alleluia. If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
