GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It's funny, how we humans fail to see what's right before our eyes sometimes.
We covet the wrong things: wealth, material gains, stuff. We lament lost money or crave more possessions. We want, want, want -- more, more, more. The better job. The more expensive house. The bigger, faster car.
And here we are, rich beyond all imagination if we have our family, our friends, our health, our safety - our lives. Before you buy any more confetti for that self-pity party, stop. Open your eyes. Look around and see the beauty of everyday life.
Don't worry about the bank account. If your surrounded by family and friends; if you woke up feeling fine; if you have a warm (or cool!), safe place to hang your hat - smile and be glad because you're a gazillionaire.
Rejoice, O hearts that seek the Lord. Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the nations his deeds. Sing to him, sing his praise, proclaim all his wondrous deeds. Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD! Look to the LORD in his strength; seek to serve him constantly. Alleluia, alleluia. This is the day the LORD has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it.
