Ps 27:1, 4, 13-14 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The LORD is my life's refuge; of whom should I be afraid? One thing I ask of the LORD; this I seek: To dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, That I may gaze on the loveliness of the LORD and contemplate his temple. I believe that I shall see the bounty of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD with courage; be stouthearted, and wait for the LORD. Alleluia 1 Pt 4:14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of God rests upon you.

It's a controversy older than Stonehenge or Betty White's hairdo.

No, I'm not talking about the results of yesterday's midterm elections. (Though I want to send a quick shout out to my friend and new U.S. Senator, Michael Rulli!)

No, no, a debate more tumultuous and divisive than, you know, Lady Gaga's raw beef dress.

The age-old question: How early is too early to put up the Christmas tree? Believe me, the argument is REAL.

Hmm. You're talking to a walking conundrum, my friends. I may not be the world's best go-to on this one.

Because I'm opposed to the erected tree, the lighted strands, or any other outward displays of Christmas prior to the day after Thanksgiving AT THE EARLIEST. Period.

Ahem.

However, I have been listening to Christmas music (intermittently) since July and watching Hallmark's COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS, wall-to-wall movie marathon since it began October 26th. True story.

I'm of absolutely no use here.

Sigh.

But I will tell you this much: you should do whatever makes you happy and causes your heart to sing and lifts you to a place of joy. No matter what the calendar or your Aunt Petunia says.

And if that means wearing an ugly Christmas sweater in May, Buon Natale!. If it meanssporting flip flops in January, Cowabunga, dude! If it means donning your St. Patrick's Day shamrock suit in July, Top of the Mornin' to ya!

You do you, no matter what the haters say. Let them be dull and down. That's their issue.

Be the happiest you can, every single day, my friends! I got your back--and your front...even if it's featuring your Halloween costume in June, Capisce?

Yes Patty, I am with Gina, "Congrats to your pal, Senator Rulli." This is great,..the Mahoning Valley showing good judgement, and strength with political diversity. ..And on another important subject, Aunt Petunia and I agree, nothing Christmas until after Thanksgiving.
