GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I was talking with a friend the other day about the ethereal, the inexplicable -- you know, the afterlife.

We chatted for a good stretch about what we think it might be like beyond the confines of earth, you dig?

We pondered how the setting would appear; what the overarching scene would resemble...how we, ourselves, might look in that big upstairs banquet hall, capsice?

The thing of it is, is: I absolutely 1,000% believe there's more to life than the century or so (if we are very lucky!) we get here on the third rock from the sun.

I think it's easy to be a doubter. It's takes no original thought, independent spirit or courage of conviction to blindly follow those who choose to dismiss life's blessings through flippant stoicism or angry denial. #sadness

Not me and my house, yo. No, I know better. I see the beauty of the sunrise every morning. I hear the breeze rustling in the trees. I have witnessed the miracle of life blossoming right before my very eyes. He's there.

Besides, for centuries, a lot of folks way smarter and far better than I have endured much and sacrificed even more in the interest of faith, devotion and hope.

So, for my part, anyway, I'm going to do my best to get to the ultimate destination...because I know for certain it's up there. Right, Pam?

See Lk 1:28 R. Alleluia, alleluia. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women. R. Alleluia, alleluia. Gospel Lk 1:26-38 The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, "Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you." But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end." ...Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word."Then the angel departed from her.
