GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
It seems easy. It's a concept we all learned as young children. BE GOOD. It's not that it's a difficult mantra to live by in theory, it's just that in practice; well, sometimes we need a little practice. For instance, when someone treats us -- you know, not good. Turning the other cheek is a toughie for us humans; we only have two.

But the thing of it is, is: in the end, being and doing good, that's really our only job, if you think about it. At home, as a parent, child, sibling, etc. - at work as a leader or a worker bee - as a neighbor, a club or committee member, a friend. There's really only one secret ingredient for success and happiness: be good.

Be good at what you do; be good at who you are; be good to the town you call home or the organization you proudly serve. Be good to your peeps.

Being good, especially in the face of bad, is trickier than it seemed in pre-school when we first got the lesson. Being good; it not only leads to achievement and accomplishment -- but it also feels pretty darn terrific in the end. And just remember that when the other humans aren't so great -- well, that just makes you even gooder.

Do not forget the works of the Lord! That they too may rise and declare to their sons that they should put their hope in God, And not forget the deeds of God but keep his commands.
