GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
As I sit here scratching my head at how fast we went from deciding on a preschool to shopping for colleges, it occurs to me:

I think I'm a percolator in a Keurig world.

It's not that I don't appreciate the rapid-fire pace at which many modern conveniences are available. I mean, what used to take days now takes minutes; what took minutes takes merely seconds.

It is incredible that you can make a long distance call to the other side of the globe instantaneously. It is remarkable that you can order pizza from Chicago to be delivered to your doorstep in Ohio overnight. It is extraordinary that you can find the name of the late actor who starred a little known independent film in Zimbabwe in 1948 with nothing more than three random prompt words ---and in .03 seconds.

But sometimes, I just wish things would slow down a hair, ya know? I long for a day when I can leisurely sip a cup o joe as I peruse the 'Net for silly, trivial facts and enjoy a crawl's paced breakfast with my boys as our pup lies lazily beneath the kitchen table.

And maybe that'll happen someday --- right after I hit the Mega Millions ...and my book hits #1 on The NY Times bestsellers list... and I buy a small island in the Caribbean where my family and friends and I live happily ever after in the sunshine? Sigh. Oh well, a girl can dream, can't she?

Happy hectic-ing, all!

Jer 31:10, 11-12abcd, 13 R.  The Lord will guard us, as a shepherd guards his flock. Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, proclaim it on distant isles, and say: He who scattered Israel, now gathers them together, he guards them as a shepherd his flock. The LORD shall ransom Jacob, he shall redeem him from the hand of his conqueror. Shouting, they shall mount the heights of Zion, they shall come streaming to the LORD's blessings: The grain, the wine, and the oil, the sheep and the oxen. Then the virgins shall make merry and dance, and young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into joy, I will console and gladden them after their sorrows. Verse Before the Gospel Ez 18:31 Cast away from you all the crimes you have committed, says the LORD, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit.

I agree... life goes by so fast and we all in such a hurry sometimes it's refreshing to spend one day
A week (Sunday) to just enjoy each other's company! Amen.
