GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Unless you have been devoid of communication with the other humans in ANY form for the last several weeks, you, too, are very well aware that on Monday, August 21, 2017, a total eclipse of the sun will occur.

It will be visible, at least in part, everywhere in the United States, pending weather conditions.

It's a pretty big deal. Guess a solar eclipse visible (at least partially) throughout the entire Untied States hasn't happened since 1918 and won't occur again until April 2024.

Even Gravel-voiced crooner Bonnie Tyler is coming out of retirement to resurrect one of her two 1980s hits. Seems she will be singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" for a very special audience aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship on Monday.

Hmm.

It sure has caused a lot of brouhaha for lots of people all over the country ... and in the other parts of the globe from where it will be able to be viewed.

It's definitely something to be excited about...but here are PK's random ramblings on the great solar eclipse of 2017:

1. I don't care what anyone says or if you think you'll be the exception and not the rule: DO NOT STARE AT THE SUN WITHOUT SPECIALLY-APPROVED ECLIPSE GLASSES. Period, end of story. You wanna see it come up again on the 22nd, Capsice?

2. Enjoy it and celebrate it but remember; obsessing about a shadow isn't nearly as exciting as having sunlight every single day on earth.

3. 2024 seems like a long way off but it'll be here before you know it; life's fast and funny that way. Maybe save those special glasses; they'll probably be back in style by then anyway, ya dig?

Ps 136:1-3, 16-18, 21-22 and 24 R. His mercy endures forever. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever; Give thanks to the God of gods, for his mercy endures forever; Give thanks to the LORD of lords, for his mercy endures forever. Who led his people through the wilderness, for his mercy endures forever;  Who smote great kings, for his mercy endures forever; And slew powerful kings, for his mercy endures forever. And made their land a heritage, for his mercy endures forever; The heritage of Israel his servant, for his mercy endures forever; And freed us from our foes, for his mercy endures forever.  Alleluia See 1 Thes 2:13 R. Receive the word of God, not as the word of men, but, as it truly is, the word of God.
