There's confident and then there's cocky. 

Confidence is liking your chances for running the pool table because you've practiced for hours on end. Cockiness is publicly predicting how long it will take you to destroy your opponent.

Confidence is knowing in your heart of hearts that you can make it to the state finals because you have trained day and night throughout the season (and the off season!). Cockiness it announcing which place you'll be taking at the state podium before the sectional tournament even starts.

Confidence is believing that you can lead your team to greatness even though you're down two games in a series of seven. Cockiness is telling the entire world that there is simply no team on the planet that can beat yours, period. Yes, this means you Draymond Green. #ArroganceIsUgly

Look, if you're a rock star at what you do, it's evident. Really. You don't need to convince me or my kid or my Mom or any of the other humans. Relax about it already.

Because, whether it's in the office, at the gym, on the court, in the pool or wherever else life's little competitions take place, it's always obvious who the best of the best is...usually fairly quickly. too. Let the announcers do the announcing, Capisce?

At the end of the day, do you really want the world's most conceited person in YOUR corner when it all comes down to it?  #DontBeThatGuy

It's like I always tell Kyle: I know you're the best looking, smartest, most fabulous swimmer this side of Michael Phelps. But it just sounds better when someone else says it, you dig?

And the kid listened because he puts his teammates above himself all the time. #SoProud
