GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
It's a word tossed around in business circles and bandied about in many other types of professional organizations quite handily.
Lots of community and religious leaders publicly espouse it; most professionals, from entry level staff members to managers to CEOs, claim it. Indeed, a majority of humans demand it of themselves and those around them ... or appear to, at least.
But here's the thing: The only person on the third rock from the sun who genuinely, unequivocally and categorically knows whether or not you truly possess and demonstrate integrity --- is you.
Life's full of opportunities, challenges, options and paths. Those driven to prosper and thrive make choices that are sometimes difficult in order to achieve their goals. Yet, at the end of the day, the means by which one attains success is as important as the achievement itself.
Here's just a little something to consider at the office, at the rec center, in the pew, around the dining room table and everywhere else: Stepping up is a whole lot different than stepping on, yo.
R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord. Verse Before the Gospel Mt 4:17 Repent, says the Lord; the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Gospel Lk 9:22-25 Jesus said to his disciples: "If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?"
