GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Some days it's a chore just to smile. Even for those of us who do it professionally.

You know, on those days when even your most ardent allies seem to throw you under the bus. Or when your spouse or child flings a morning insult at you and inadvertently sets a negative tone for your day. Or when you follow the snow plow all the way to work ... and it's not snowing ... and he's going 15 in a 45 ... and blinding you the entire way ... and it's a no passing zone.

Or, to quote Andie McDowell in a 1980s nail polish commercial, the times when "Even your fat clothes are too tight." Sigh.

Yep, those days make it tough for a smiler. And just when I resolved to settle for a day full of frowning, a little voice inside my head remembered that one of the greatest gals to ever walk the planet has a lot of famous quotes about...you guessed it, smiling.  Here's some advice from Blessed Mother Teresa, my favorite saint, in her own words:
  • “Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.”
  • "Peace begins with a smile."
  • “Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”
  • “Let us make one point, that we meet each other with a smile, when it is difficult to smile. Smile at each other, make time for each other in your family.”
There you have it; smiling today it is. :-)

Mal 3:1-4 - "...Thus says the Lord God: Lo, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me; And suddenly there will come to the temple the LORD whom you seek, And the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Yes, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts..."
