Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Ps 27: The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The LORD is my life's refuge; of whom should I be afraid? Though an army encamp against me, my heart will not fear; Though war be waged upon me, even then will I trust. For he will hide me in his abode in the day of trouble; He will conceal me in the shelter of his tent, he will set me high upon a rock. Your presence, O LORD, I seek. Hide not your face from me; do not in anger repel your servant. You are my helper: cast me not off.

You know how some days, you wake up with a song stuck in your mental jukebox.

Yes, I just referenced a jukebox; I'm going old school today. Young guns may have to search that one online.

Either way, today's loop comes courtesy of The Kinks' 1970 classic "Lola".  #TheKinksRock

Incidentally, the fact that many people on planet Earth today have never heard of, seen, or experienced the fabulousness of a jukebox plays quite nicely into today's message.

Other than the sheer tragedy of today's modern man (and woman and child) not having the opportunity to drop some quarters into the old restaurant jukebox and play their favorite 45 (Google that one, too, kiddos) repeatedly and much to the annoyance of fellow diners, well, it's just a commentary on how much has changed since I was a kid to today.

It's pretty much almost everything, no? Um, kinda.

And I know I sound like every curmudgeon who came in the generations before me, but I sometimes think much of what has changed is, well, a little for the worse, you dig? Because, as The Kinks foretold nearly 50 years ago: "It's a mixed-up, muddled-up, shook-up world except for Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola."

Hmm. Well, I'm sure Lola is well into her 70s by now, just like my beloved Kinks. However, unlike my beloved Kinks, I take comfort in knowing that as flip-floppity upside down things seem in 2019; many staples remain constant, in addition to lovely Lola, natch:

-There is still and always will be more good in the world than bad. #GoodWins
-You can always count on at least one family member (likely more) and/or a super close friend to be there for you through thick and thin. #Fam
-Health trumps wealth every day of the week and twice on Sunday. #Priorities
-Regardless of the question, giving and kindness are always the right answer;  cruelty and greed ain't ... like, ever. #Integrity
-Happiness is defined one human at a time. #FindYourOwnHappy
-Even when you doubt or dismiss Him, the Big Guy is there...and He cares. #Faith

Oh...and The Kinks are still cool, yo. Peace out.
