Patty, "Trust me.", because I've been through that process twice, (in one life time), and your son/your husband/you, are all just going into another phase of your young lives (Yes, your husband, and you are still young.) And, I actually enjoyed those college years more than my sons' high school years.. I would not be surprised if you find that to be true too. ..And, keep in mind, your son is not leaving home, just going on for higher education, where he's going to room and board as a resident student. ..Your home will always be his home too/his roots. ..You know, you've already done that.. given him strong wings to fly, and strong roots to return.
You always know the right things to say, Cathy; love you!
Patty, Thank you. ..I love U 2, and I'm so happy we are related. .And I'm looking forward to some of your not too distant future 'Words To Give By', when you write about how this new experience is not even close to being as traumatic at you thought it would be.. I'll be waiting. :-)
