GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Well, yesterday was all about Pop; today it's me Mum's turn.
This amazing lady is having a birthday today; I know it may not mean much to a lot of you out there but it certainly means the world to me.
Ironically, my Mother's birthday is clearly one of the greatest gifts to so many people in so many ways.
To the patients she cared for so deeply while working as a nurse. To the friends she's cherished from childhood and those she met later in life but obviously treasures.
To the classmates she had at good old Ashtabula St. John's High School to the ones she made as a non-trad at YSU earning a Bachelor's in Science of Applied Science degree (this is in addition to being an RN, BTW). #mymomiswickedsmart
To the cousins she loves as siblings to the nieces and nephews she patently adores. To the grandchildren who would absolutely step in front of a moving train for her and who, of course, are the center and light of her entire world. To the man whom she married nearly 54 years ago; the one who calls her "the best partner anyone could have even chosen to walk through life with" to the children who wake up every single day thanking God she is their Mom.
All I can say is, if you search the phrase "perfect Mom" on the Internet, mine surfaces in the #1 spot every time.
Yep, many of you reading this might not think it's a huge deal that it's my Mom's birthday today ... but those of us blessed enough to have her in our lives sure as heck know June 19th ought to be declared a national holiday.
Happy Birthday & Love you, Ma!!!!!!!
Ps 119:105- R. Alleluia, alleluia. A lamp to my feet is your word, a light to my path. Gospel Mt 5:38-42-Jesus said to his disciples: "You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one to him as well. If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow."
