GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
"A Keeper." That was the title in the subject of an email I received from my Mom this morning. It was a short, sweet little memo, of sorts. A reminder about devotion to:
-Honoring commitments, personal and professional, with integrity.
-Maintaining friendships over time and across miles.
-Taking pride in a job well done.
-Caring for the most vulnerable among us: the very young, the aged, the physically or emotionally-challenged, the needy, the poor.
-Respecting the sanctity of marriage.
-Protecting the bonds of family: honoring parents at every age; nurturing children at every stage; providing a safe haven for beloved pets.
-Tending to our home: not being wasteful, respecting the environment, caring for this big, beautiful rock we inhabit.
And a devotion being thankful to the Provider of all the good people and other blessings we take for granted every day.
Basically, just a little nod toward showing some gratitude for all the folks and stuff in life that are "keepers."
Like the readers of this blog --- and especially the sender of that email. <3

Simon Peter answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep." He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, "Do you love me?" and he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep...
