Mk 5:...While he was still speaking, people from the synagogue official's house arrived and said, "Your daughter has died; why trouble the teacher any longer?"Disregarding the message that was reported, Jesus said to the synagogue official, "Do not be afraid; just have faith." He did not allow anyone to accompany him inside except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James. When they arrived...he went in and said to them, "Why this commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep." And they ridiculed him. Then he put them all out...He took the child by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum," which means, "Little girl, I say to you, arise!" The girl, 12, arose immediately and walked around. At that they were utterly astounded. He gave strict orders that no one should know this & said that she should be given something to eat.

I am one of those people who believes that the other humans cross our paths for a specific purpose.

That really, really hard English teacher in high school you despised because she only gave out As during leap years? You can thank her for your stellar grammar...and probably a little bit for the study habits that helped you sail through Lit in college, yo.

That hideously self-centered cheater of a first boyfriend? Well, he taught you what it means to be loyal...rather, how it feels when someone isn't.  As a result, you were true blue to the beaus who followed. Sure he made you feel like your insides were shriveling up to the size of pinheads and seeping out through the pores of your skin. Yes, you spent four days in your room listening to sappy love songs and eating pint after pint of chocolate fudge chunk ice cream after you discovered his betrayal. But you also learned, beyond any hint of doubt, what kind of bad boy to avoid for future reference -- which ultimately led you to your mate, mate.

That "on again/off again" friend who only seemed to surface when she needed something? Yeah, you can send her a bouquet of flowers for showing you, albeit the hard way, that friendship is about being there through whatever life tosses your pal's way --and blocking and deflecting for her/him until both arms and a leg pop off, you dig? Thanks to her arrogance and immaturity, you now have the FOREVER friend for whom you'd happily take a bullet or drive the getaway car, no questions asked. Heck, even if you know where she is; don't waste money on violets for Ms. Vile  - donate it to charity instead.

That horrendous boss? Easy. That course was entitled: "How NOT to Treat Employees 101" (or any other homo sapiens, either, BT dubs). That dude was legendary in the "Anatomy of a Bad Leader" department. But he DID give you the motivation to seek other, better opportunities in your life, yes? DO IT.

Bottom line: there will always be jerks in the world and some are bound to weave into your lane from time to time. Whether you let them slow you down or decide to leave them in the dust; that's totally up to you, Capisce? #EverythingHappensForAReason #LoseTheJerkNotTheLesson #PrayOnIt
