GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Sponsored by hbkcpa.com/consultants/melissa-crowley/ Have you ever noticed how we humans are never satisfied? Ungrateful little buggers are we. Even the best of us. #beinghuman For instance, we always want something we don't or cannot have. Like more inches of height (or less if you're self-conscious about being tall)...Or straight hair (if yours is wiry and unruly like mine)...Or curly hair (if yours is poker straight)...Or, um, hair. I digress. Either way, we always seem to be disgruntled or uneasy...especially when we think things aren't going in our favor -- and even when they are? I mean, there are some of us who are actually terrified, when all seems right with the world, that some horrible fate awaits us just around the next corner. #worryisuseless #whydoidoit And that's when we all need to stop, breathe and ponder these wise words from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase." As relevant as ever, Dr. King's insight is spot on for me today. #whathesaid Honoring him, all for which he stood and, of course, the One he always praised. So, I'm confidently taking the first step up the staircase by trying to appreciate every moment of every day --- even the bad hair ones. #MartinLutherKingDay #faith #hope #peace #praiseGod Ps 50:8-9, 16bc-17, 21 and 23 R. (23b) To the upright I will show the saving power of God. "Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you, for your burnt offerings are before me always. I take from your house no bullock, no goats out of your fold." "Why do you recite my statutes, and profess my covenant with your mouth, Though you hate discipline and cast my words behind you?" "When you do these things, shall I be deaf to it? Or do you think that I am like yourself? I will correct you by drawing them up before your eyes. He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me; and to him that goes the right way I will show the salvation of God." Alleluia Hb 4:12 The word of God is living and effective, able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart.
