Multitasking: Hurray or Nay?
GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
It's not a thought, really...at least not today.
Today, it's a blur. It's a jumble. It's the absolute whirlwind of whirlwinds.
It's a puzzle wrapped in a riddle tied up with a string of conundrum and topped with a brainteaser bow.
Think of it as Jumble meets Brain Age meets Sudoku meets Two Dots meets The Crossword meets Words with Friends...all while watching The Matrix.
My brain is moving too fast for my mouth and hands to assuage its myriad of thoughts, suggestions, requests, demands. Everywhere I look or turn, I'm met by discord, impatience, frustration because someone --make that about 37 someones-- needs something NOW, if not sooner.
And nobody's in the mood to take a number, yo.
Today is one of those, "I can't keep up on my life" days.
So, I'm going to do the only thing I know will help. I'm going to take a deep breath, say a little prayer for peace and focus, grab another cup of coffee, steal a quick hug from a gal pal and tackle one issue at a time. Because that's exactly how many we humans can handle successfully. ONE AT A TIME.
Prioritize your madness, start at the top of the list and do your best to eliminate each item once it has been given its due amount of attention.
Oh, and smile. In fact, put on your silliest face and laugh. It's a much better plan than screaming or crying -- trust me.
Besides, lots of the other humans are trying to find their way out of the same kooky puzzle today. And guess what? Many of them have far worse problems than you; so be grateful and treat others kindly.
Consider all the good in today instead of just what's stressing you out because even on the craziest day, life is a blessing.

Ps 131:1bcde, 2, 3 R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace. O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor are my eyes haughty; I busy not myself with great things, nor with things too sublime for me. R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace. Nay rather, I have stilled and quieted my soul like a weaned child. Like a weaned child on its mother's lap, so is my soul within me. R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace. O Israel, hope in the LORD, both now and forever. R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace. Alleluia Mt 11:28 R. Alleluia, alleluia. Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest, says the Lord.
