Ps 37:3-4, 18 and 23, 27 and 29 The salvation of the just comes from the Lord. Trust in the LORD and do good, that you may dwell in the land and be fed in security. Take delight in the LORD, and he will grant you your heart's requests. The LORD watches over the lives of the wholehearted; their inheritance lasts forever. By the LORD are the steps of a man  made firm, and he approves his way. Turn from evil and do good, that you may abide  forever; The just shall possess the land and dwell in it forever. Jn 14:23 Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him.

I've always hated Pepe LePew. But, really, though.

Well, as much as one can actually detest a fictional rodent, anyway.

Many of you will recall Monsieur LePew. He was (well, is, I suppose, since cartoon characters never really age) the Looney Tunes skunk with delusions of grandeur.

He is the epitome of that dude you hated in college who thought his spray didn't stink, you dig? The guy who was SO certain all the ladies were after him...when in reality, they were SO not.

But I could deal with all that...if not for the fact that Pepe has always creeped me out -- legit. I mean, he refuses to stop chasing after poor Penelope, the black cat with the unfortunate birthmark a strip of white hair down the middle of her back. Pepe mistakes her for a skunk and pursues her relentlessly, no matter how many times she tells him to get lost, yo.

Even as a small child, it completely FREAKED ME OUT that he wouldn't take no for an answer when Penelope rebuffed his advances. NO MEANS NO, PEPE, back the bleep off! Ahem.

Plus, I hate that tuft of white in the front of his hair; it irks me.

Recently, when I shared my disdain for the overly amorous skunk with my girlfriend Ashlea, we cracked up in our shared disgust. In fact, we bonded over what is now our fabulous inside joke about him.

And a few days later, Ashlea, who is not only my colleague at my day job and one of my fave humans but also a very talented artist, gifted me with this fabulous original of our old pal Pepe.

I treasure it...and her...more than I can say. Every time I look at it, I think of all the trouble Ashlea went through just to make me smile. What a keeper she is.

Heck, I even find myself liking LePew...kind of...a little bit...in a way. #NotReally But I sure do love Ashlea!
