Sunflowers and Butterflies and New Pals, Oh My!

GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I zipped over to my folks' house the other day and spent some time with my Pop in is garden.

I imagine that heaven has lots and lots of gardens.

It was lovely...cucumbers and zucchini bigger than two-by-fours bursting from beneath their leaves, hearty basil plants filling the air with their amazing scent, bright bursts of sun and other summer flowers popping everywhere (and strategically placed by Pop for pollination); grapevines beginning to straddle up wooden trellises...

Happy sigh.

And then, as if the scene couldn't be any more idyllic; it suddenly was. There they were, a handful of breathtakingly gorgeous butterflies just flitting about from flower to flower...and circling my Pop.

I took the vista in as I know it was intended; a sign from the Man Upstairs about appreciating the beauty surrounding us - especially in the peeps He's placed in our lives. #loveyouPop

Speaking of whom; shout out to Janine, my new pal. She's a regional executive with JC Penney (my favorite store!) whom I befriended yesterday because she's just so lovely and friendly.

And just like the extra sprinkles of the butterflies in Pop's garden; darned if she didn't pay it forward by sharing some of her good fortune with me when we happened to be seated side-by-side at the casino. #unnecessarilykind

Thanks for the great afternoon break, Pop; thanks for the kindness of strangers, Janine --- and thanks for the beautiful reminders, Big Guy.

Ps 119:135 Let your countenance shine upon your servant and teach me your statutes. R. Alleluia, alleluia. Gospel Mt 18:21–19:1 Peter approached Jesus and asked him, "Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?" Jesus answered, "I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times..."
