GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Sponsored by hbkcpa.com/consultants/melissa-crowley/ Once in a blue moon --- you drag your friends all over the office from window to window to window looking for a --you guessed it. A super one at that! #superbluebloodmoon #lunareclipse2018 #missedtheentirething Indeed, I corralled my friends Linda and Jim quite early this morning, prying them away from the desks at which they both arrive well before the crack of dawn each day...likely to avoid annoying interruptions such as mine. Oops. But this was important! So there I stood, prodding and pulling them to come with me; promising visions of a super cool, rare, amazing, once in a lifetime (or at least year) lunar extravaganza. "Come on, let's go look!" I said with all the excitement of Linus awaiting the Great Pumpkin on Halloween. And, as we rolled up the blinds in the main conference room on our floor, they were hoisted on high to reveal ... um, nothing. Nothing at all. On behalf of moon gazers throughout the Buckeye state (and wherever else it's cloudy 98.24872% of the time): HMPF! "Maybe we can see it from here?" I said, leading Linda by the hand to the stairwell where we caught a glimpse of ... the street lamp. #crud In a last ditch effort to view that big, bad moon rising, I stumbled into another conference room in the dark, cupping my eyes against the glass and squinting hard. "There it is!" I said. "I think I see it!" Alas, it was the glow from the neon lights on the car wash across the street. Clearly the only Blue Moon any of us might see today would be the kind with an orange slice sticking out of the rim. #firstroundsonme Oh well, thank goodness for social media sites. #supermoonphotosgalore And sorry, Linda and Jim. Let's meet back here again on July 27 for a total eclipse of your quiet time...I mean, the moon! #sorryguys #toocloudy #mybad PS 32:1-2, 5, 6, 7 R. (see 5c) Lord, forgive the wrong I have done. Blessed is he whose fault is taken away, whose sin is covered. Blessed the man to whom the LORD imputes not guilt, in whose spirit there is no guile. Then I acknowledged my sin to you,my guilt I covered not. I said, "I confess my faults to the LORD," and you took away the guilt of my sin. For this shall every faithful man pray to you in time of stress. Though deep waters overflow, they shall not reach him. You are my shelter; from distress you will preserve me; with glad cries of freedom you will ring me round. Alleluia JN 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me.
