The One Where Christmas Came Early for PK

Lk 1: ...the angel Gabriel was sent from God  to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, "Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you." But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end." ... Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word."

T minus five days and counting. The big birthday bash is a comin' whether you're ready or not, y'all. HINT: As long as you wrapped up your heart to spread around some lovin', you are ready.

But for old pk, Christmas came a little early this year. Sure, I'm talking about the kiddo coming home from college for a spell but I also need to share a magical message with you, friends.

Some angels I work with at my day job, led by one particularly altruistic, compassionate, and faith-filled beauty (love you Diane), sprung a huge surprise on this chick right here.

See that mouse pad in the accompanying photo? It was left on my desk anonymously...and a few days later, work pals starting sporting similar black mugs with the words, "I'm PK's #1 fan" below the other two inscriptions.

Mic drop. Heart melt. Humility and appreciation OVERLOAD. #MoreThanIDeserve

As my eyes welled up to almost the tipping point of my full, full heart, I listened as people told me how much they look forward to this little blog of mine.

I CANNOT EMPHATICALLY OR ACCURATELY ENOUGH CONVEY THE AMOUNT OF JOY AND LOVE WITH WHICH THIS FILLS ME. #BeyondBlessed

Knowing that other humans are touched by something I penned (and more importantly, methinks, the daily scripture included with the message) means more to me than I could ever say.

And, trite as it may seem, it's as true as the day is long: The spiritual and emotional reward I receive from this daily exercise is far greater than anything I could ever offer as a part of it. BOTTOM LINE is, the greatest gift of all is simply in the giving.

So thank you. Thank you to my advocates, sponsors, readers, supporters, and friends. I love and appreciate you more than you know.

And boy am I ever ONE GRATEFUL GIRL.
