GRATEFUL GIRL’S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY I was speaking with my friend Samantha the other day about dreams. Odd little mind manipulations, aren’t they?
We laughed over how, sometimes in our dreams, we find ourselves doing things completely against our nature...some of them even quite questionable. I hate waking to the feeling of regret for something I “did” in a dream, silly as it sounds.
Moreover, I despise the feeling of being angry or worried or afraid or sad over something that NEVER HAPPENED.
I remember having a horrible dream about Kyle a few years ago. I cried for two days. My son looked at me and said, “Mom, I am literally standing here in front of you perfectly fine, for goodness sake.” He actually used a different prepositional phrase at the end there.
But here’s what: it doesn’t matter what you, your psychoanalyst, your great, great granddad or even super psychic Tyler Henry says about your dreams because at the end of the day —or, rather at it’s dawn— it isn’t real.
So relax. You didn’t commit a felony or break a trust. Open your eyes and see what matters: life in the present, you know, when you’re conscious. Don’t lose any sleep over upsetting dreams; make choices that turn you life into your waking ones, Capisce?
On the other hand, I am no longer married to Rick Grimes as of 5:01AM. Hmpf.
Then again, I’m pretty darned happy to be Mrs. Kerry Kimerer here in the light of day.
Sweet awakenings, all!
Jn 15:26b, 27a R. Alleluia, alleluia. The Spirit of truth will testify to me, says the Lord, and you also will testify. Gospel Lk 12:8-12 Jesus said to his disciples: "I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before others the Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever denies me before others will be denied before the angels of God. "Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. When they take you before synagogues and before rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what your defense will be or about what you are to say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say."
