The Way I Sea It...

GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Men may not be able to relate to this but, ladies, you know how your purse reaches that over-saturation point when there's not much else you can do but dump out all of its contents and start from scratch?

For you gents, I'm guessing it's the equivalent of depleting the unnecessary items from your over-stuffed wallets or meticulously cleaning your car interior.

Healthy purging, if you will. #burstingattheseams

Either way, my handbag had morphed into a carry on recently and it was time to spill its guts; only I didn't realize some of said innards was a fair amount of sand from a quick trip to Cape May at the end of a business trip last week.

And, as I stared down at the mini-beach on my carpeted office floor, I began to laugh. Hard.

SNORT.

"Well, I can choose to look at this one of two ways," I said to myself: either as a flip-floppity mess adding to the mountains of paper and various other work materials cluttering my space -- or an impromptu time portal that can transport me back to the beach whenever I gaze upon it.

I eventually subscribed to the less stressful and sun-inspired latter option, even tossing down a few push pins as faux beach balls and a post-it note as a makeshift beach towel.

Kidding.

But the way I "sea" it; life is a dream or a nightmare --- it all just depends on your perspective, Capisce?

Gospel Mt 24:42-51 Jesus said to his disciples: "Stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come. Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come..."

Funny I also refer to my son as a "Sea Om". When I put captions to his beach pictures, I write "Rare Sea Om spotted" like he is some kind of sea animal which really belonged to the sea. We love the sea that much. Not to the point that we want to be in the water for hours, but our week will not be complete if we don't get any sea breeze from anywhere. It's healthier. The sound of the waves seem to deafen all our running thoughts. It helps us to think clearly. The city can be full of unnecessary noise and we really need this kind of sound once in a while.
