GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Ah, the finger pointers. You know their game well.

They are the accusers. The fault finders. The blame bestowers. The guilt gurus.

We all know them because they're everywhere: in the office, attending the school board or city council meeting, serving on the volunteer committee -- even sitting next to you on the plane, yo.

As a rule, they tend to place themselves just a tad (or a few thousand feet or so) above the average Joe/Josephine. And it's typically not enough for them to simply level a claim. Nah, these gems usually take the extra step to offer up a sacrificial lamb...and it's always somebody else, Capisce? #judgeandjury

Look, there's no shame in accepting blame that you squarely earned either by accident, through thoughtlessness or even with fully malicious intent. But it's something altogether different to be forced to carry someone else's dirty linen-filled baggage on your back simply because the real offender of an indiscretion is too cowardly to admit their mistake. #fallguy #takingonefortheteamthehardway

If you messed up, that's okay...as long as you say so. If you didn't but are still being tossed under the bus by someone, try to take the high road anyway. In the end, that nasty fault line will reveal itself and you'll want to be up there at 20,000-feet --far away from the sinkhole it causes-- when it does.

Ps 79:1b-2, 3-5, 8, 9 R. (9) For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us. O God, the nations have come into your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple, they have laid Jerusalem in ruins. They have given the corpses of your servants as food to the birds of heaven, the flesh of your faithful ones to the beasts of the earth. They have poured out their blood like water round about Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury them. We have become the reproach of our neighbors, the scorn and derision of those around us. O LORD, how long? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire? Remember not against us the iniquities of the past; may your compassion quickly come to us, for we are brought very low. Help us, O God our savior, because of the glory of your name; Deliver us and pardon our sins for your name's sake. Alleluia Ps 95:8 If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
