GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
There are those who debunk the theory that it's better to give than to receive. "Those" be wrong, yo.
Yesterday was my big sister's birthday. I'd been waiting and waiting to give her her gifts: an open front sweater that is all the fashion rage right now and a collectible ornament adorned with all things Ohio State Buckeyes.
Since she is a huge Buckeye fan and loves classy clothing, I was busting at the seams to hand her her gift bag. And when she opened it and I could see the genuine joy and appreciation on her face; it was so fulfilling that my heart was spilling over with super duper happy. And that was MY gift.
The point is: it's not about the number of gifts one gets; it's not about money spent, perfect wrapping paper jobs or being the first or last to open your presents. It's about the sentiment behind the giving; it's about doing something for another for their good. It's about thinking of someone else before yourself.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blest is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
