GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
I remember vividly two plaques that hung in the kitchen of my maternal grandmother. One read: "We grow too soon old and too late smart." The other bore the saying: "The hurrier I go, the behinder I get." Gram sure knew what she was doing when she bought those two little signs.

Because, only when we have logged a little mileage do we really start to understand a thing or two about the path -- and the journey itself. One of the most important rules of the road, by the way, is this little shortcut: there are not shortcuts. Slow and steady really does help win the race. In other words, focusing on one task at a time or giving your full attention to a single person, chore or duty is the only way to perform at your highest level, period.

Multi-tasking is a necessity in today's world; there's really no way around it. But diluting your attention to the point where detail, precision and passion for the task (or person) at hand suffer is not only sloppy but also amateurish. It simply won't reflect your best efforts; your finest work; your depth of caring.   #beinthemoment

I know we're all in a mad rush to the finish line; but will coming in first really matter if we get disqualified? Slow down; be thoughtful; pay attention to detail --- and to the people around you.

Quality over quantity; mindfulness versus mass production; careful and thoughtful instead of quick and done.

Trust me, I know a little bit of stuff...I'm an old person, after all.

Ps 23:1-3a, 4, 5, 6-R. (1) The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose; Beside restful waters he leads me; he refreshes my soul. Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side With your rod and your staff that give me courage. You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life; And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for years to come. Alleluia Mt 16:18-You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church; the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
