GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
I can hear my Pop saying it in my mind's ear even when I'm not with him. Usually, he utters it three to four times in quick succession. I HATE TO WAIT. I HATE TO WAIT. #truth In fairness to my Father, I really don't know a single soul who LOVES to wait. And yet, so much of our daily lives is little more than a waiting game.

At the store, at the bank, in the fast food line (goodness gracious, have you been to a Chick-fil-a drive through lately? Sheesh!). Even the lunchroom microwave requires a TAKE A NUMBER tab around Noonish every Monday through Friday. And some folks get a little irritated with you when you happen to have gotten there ahead of them. #sorrymyeggwhitestooksolong

Just the other day, I wanted to surprise my son with an Oreo milkshake from Steak & Shake ... on a Friday night ... at about 8PM. Please never go to Steak & Shake on a Friday night around 8PM ... if you hate to wait.  Because, wait I did. For 33 minutes from start to finish. That wasn't the biggest irritant,  however. The worst part was almost getting hit in the parking lot three times (not kidding) by folks who could hardly wait to leave. Sigh.

I could've gotten angry at the livid luncher or the parking lot poopy-heads. Instead, I chuckled. Life's too short to fret over absurdity or almost accidents. There's way too much to be happy about and grateful for in this world to sulk over silliness. So slow down, take your time...have a little patience.

Something super awesome is right around the corner for you ... just waiting.

Psalm 37 - Commit your life to the Lord, and he will help you. Turn from evil and do good, that you may abide forever; For the LORD loves what is right, and forsakes not his faithful ones.  Mark 9 - Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all."

"The first shall be last and the last shall be first." I guess we should all be ready to slow down, stop to smell the roses, and have a little patience!
