GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
It's kind of funny, when you consider it, how quickly a decade goes by.
Especially since the word itself sounds so incredibly formal, solid, sturdy and stoic, even. When we lump together eras by decade, the span seems to be a considerable one, doesn't it?
A decade. Sounds like eons.
Alas, it's only after you blink and your baby boy goes from finishing the first grade to selecting a college does it begin to occur to you how fast life moves. #BackOffFatherTime
Sure, it doesn't seem like that in line at Penney's the week before Christmas...or as you wait for a stall to open after several Margaritas at the Jimmy Buffett concert...or as you keep refreshing your screen to see if your final grade has been posted yet. #patience
But I promise you, friends, espeically those of you under the age of 35: time doesn't just fly; it leaps by at hyper-speed from one decade to the next. For real, tho.
Which brings me to the point that every single moment of life here on earth is a special one; for some reason or another, ya dig? Maybe you've been anticipating it for weeks or months or years or a lifetime and you're finally living a dream inside of it. #blessings Maybe you have dreaded it for hours or days or weeks or months...and you are incredibly grateful as soon as it passes. #relief
One thing is certain; no decade or moment is going to last forever down here on this big round ball...so be careful to treasure what you should for as long as you're able. 'Cause don't look now, but that calendar keeps edging toward a new decade, yo.

Ps 40:7-8a, 8b-9, 10, 17 R. (8a and 9a) Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Sacrifice or oblation you wished not, but ears open to obedience you gave me. Burnt offerings or sin offerings you sought not; then said I, "Behold I come." "In the written scroll it is prescribed for me, To do your will, O my God, is my delight, and your law is within my heart!" I announced your justice in the vast assembly; I did not restrain my lips, as you, O LORD, know. May all who seek you exult and be glad in you, And may those who love your salvation say ever, "The LORD be glorified." Alleluia Lk 21:36 Be vigilant at all times and pray that you may have the strength to stand before the Son of Man.
