I was walking along the bridge over Lake Milton the other day when I saw it.
This sweet little orange caterpillar, just sunning himself and climbing slowly along a weed growing through the sidewalk crack.
I had been feeling a little blue up to that point when suddenly, a few thoughts popped into the old noggin:
#1. Just because your head is downcast doesn't mean you might not just catch a glimpse of something really breathtaking. You just have to have your eyes wide open to seeing it. #SignsAreAllAround
#2. Cement is strong but weeds are tougher. Don't count out a little plant, even against brick or stone, if its roots are strong enough.
#3. If we works hard when we're young and strong, we may just be able to soar when we get a little older, yo.
#4. Sometimes we're so focused on what we need to become in the future, that we can't appreciate who and what we are in the moment, you dig? Sure, this little guy (girl?) will be a gorgeous butterfly one day soon but, man, he's stunning in his own right...right now.
Look, it's important to watch where you're going...just don't miss where you are, Capisce? The Big Guy's sending you signs that you're awesome ALL THE TIME. Don't miss 'em. #LookForBeauty #BeInTheMoment
