GRATEFUL GIRL'S THOUGHT FOR THE DAY The trouble with focusing on problems rather than possible solutions is: that's the worst way to fix 'em. Sure, folks down in Houston could compound the problem that is Hurricane Harvey (and his horrendous aftermath) by adding tears and not much else to the rain. After all, no one can blame them for being sad about what's happening down there right now; we all are. We stand you with, friends. #prayforhouston And as much as we all hate Harvey, it ain't helping us rid ourselves of his havoc, Capisce? Unfortunately, life's filled with periodic storms. Some are short and intense. Some are prolonged, merciless and downright painful. Some are slow to build. Some are distant and others open up right above our heads. Sometimes we find ourselves caught up in them without much warning and other times we can prepare and hunker down until they pass. But when they finally end --and eventually, they all do-- we need to be able to move past the hurt and damage of the storms and pick up the pieces; even if it means rebuilding or starting over. The good news is; storms may bring out the worst in Mother Nature but they also wash the very best of mankind right up to the surface. There's a lot of good in this big old world; even in the eye or tail of a storm. Count on it. Take a hand when you need to; offer a hand when you're blessed to be able to -- and keep the faith that when the storm passes, the sun will come out again. Please consider helping our pals in the south currently grappling with the devastation Harvey's harsh hand recently dealt them: https://www.redcross.org/donate/hurricane-harvey?campname=Harvey&campmedium=aspot Ps 139:1-3, 4-6 R. (1) You have searched me and you know me, Lord. O LORD, you have probed me and you know me; you know when I sit and when I stand; you understand my thoughts from afar. My journeys and my rest you scrutinize, with all my ways you are familiar. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know the whole of it. Behind me and before, you hem me in and rest your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; too lofty for me to attain. Alleluia Mt 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.

Continuing to pray for all of those who have lost loved ones and those who will have to rebuild their homes, etc. Thank you for the link to the Red Cross; I was debating on where to donate. This is perfect!
