Sponsor: www.linkedin.com/in/melissa-crowley-b05a8423/ LK 1 Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." I love Audrey Hepburn. Who couldn't? I mean, just look at her in this GOOGLE photo; all at once gorgeous and womanly and confident and regal and impish and shy and humble. Not many people can pull that little maneuver off, you dig? My girlfriend Chris and I often wax on and on about what a rare treasure she was. We both adore everything about her. Ah, Audrey... -A gifted actress whose talent only SHE seemed to under appreciate. -A style maven who was an iconic fashionista ahead of her day. -An impossible beauty whose effortless, magnificent loveliness (both inside and out) eluded her. -A King Kong-sized humanitarian. -An inspiration in so very many ways. Her glamour (she was besties with designer Hubert de Givenchy) and her renowned philanthropic and charitable contributions aside, Audrey was just a girl's girl with whom anyone would want to spend time. Not only did she really get what's important about life (so few in Hollywood do), she tried to make sure others got the message, too. In fact, she became famous for sage quips over the course of time. I've scoured her quotes to share as proof; here are a smattering of some of my faves: “I believe, every day, you should have at least one exquisite moment. “ “Life is a party. Dress for it.” “I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.” “I probably hold the distinction of being one movie star who, by all laws of logic, should never have made it. At each stage of my career, I lacked the experience.” “Giving is living. If you stop wanting to give, there’s nothing more to live for.” “I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it.” And, maybe the one I love the very most: “There are more important things than outward appearance. No amount of makeup can cover an ugly personality.” Take it from Audrey. She was a Cover Girl, Mega Super Model, Amazeballs Rock Star Tenderheart before any of them were even a thing, Capisce? Class, grace, and kindness personified. That's how I will think of Audrey ... forever. #AudreyHepburn #LittleBlackDress #CompassionIsInFahion
